I recently upgraded my camera bag so that I could literally carry EVERYTHING I needed for travel and outdoor photo and video. A lot of places I go and things I do require me to be mobile, be able to pack up quick, and carry everything I need for the day or two or seven that I’m filming.
A friend of mine had been a part of the team that launched the Shimoda Explore 60L on Kickstarter and after looking at it I knew this was the bag for me.
This bag has everything you could want from water resistant fabric, tie downs and straps ALL OVER IT, storage that seems to go forever and modular “core units” of different shapes and sizes that fit inside and protect your gear.
I just recently traveled to Thailand for 2 weeks for work and this bag fit carry on and easily in the overhead bins so I didn’t have to check my gear (which I try to avoid like the plague). The Shimoda Explore wasn’t hard on my back as I carried everything and wearing it all around never felt “burdensome.”
It’s not a cheap bag by any means, but in my opinion it’s worth every penny.
